The Dolci Hotel
According to the archives, our house was built at the beginning of the 20th century by its owner at the time, Georges Dolci. It then served as a canteen and hotel for the engineers of the Mont d'Or tunnel, an exceptional work which would connect France and neighboring Switzerland by rail.
The Mont d'Or tunnel construction site, which began in 1910 and ended in 1915, was the first work of this scale. Its function of rail communication between France and Switzerland facilitated exchanges of all types between our two border countries.
Currently, this line still occupies a major function since it connects the cities of Paris and Lausanne.
